I've known for a long time that I wanted to run my own business. The concept and idea came easily; I've loved the planning and creative stages of setting up a business and sourcing my products. What I have found really hard has been taking the plunge and actually getting started: getting started with my business and getting started with the blog I knew I wanted to write.
Starting the blog has been a challenge because in the past I haven’t been a very active user of social media so I’ve found the idea of publicly sharing ideas, thoughts and experiences daunting - even more so in the parenting arena, where there are so many opinions and there is so much information! It’s hard to find your voice on the internet and even harder to be a voice that people want to hear. So I’m going to focus on the hugely positive reason that I wanted to start a blog in the first place: to talk about The Busy Box Company, what it has to offer and why I have created it.
Starting my business, The Busy Box Company, has been a toughie because, until very recently, I was a full-time mum and finding the time and energy after a busy day with my gorgeous little boy to make my ideas a reality has taken time (so much more time than I would have liked). It’s also been a challenge to find the confidence to put my business concept out there. I never expected to spend so long being a full-time mum. That particular role always felt far outside my comfort zone (although in so many ways it has been the best experience of my life). Having been away from the professional working environment I’m used to for 18 months, and having struggled to try and get back there, I wasn’t sure I was up to the task of creating my own business. Turns out the only way to know, is to just get on with it…
So, after many months of work crammed into nap times and lots and lots of tea, I am really proud to be able to say: welcome to The Busy Box Company Blog. I’m Hannah, creator of The Busy Box Company, which has launched today and is now home to a gorgeous collection of carefully curated activity boxes for you to share with the busy little ones in your life. On the blog I will be talking about where my ideas have come from and the amazing brands I am working with, as well as lots on family life, new ideas for playtime and discussions on parenting.
So have a nosey, head over to Instagram or Facebook to see what else I've been up to or get in touch (email@example.com) if you would like to know more about me, the business or the amazing brands and products I'm working with.
